About Melinda

After many years in private industry, Melinda returned to public accounting in 2016.   Having a strong connection to the community, Melinda felt that her experience would be beneficial to local business owners, seeking a year round relationship with their accountant.

• Melinda May is a senior level financial, taxation and management executive with over twenty years of experience in financial and management accounting.
• Experience in controlling costs, generating revenue and managing financial operations of multiple companies at one time.
• Melinda received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Mary Washington College and her Master’s degree in Taxation from Virginia Commonwealth University.
• Her private industry experience was focused heavily in the real estate and construction areas. Her most recent position was the Chief Financial Officer for Hazel Land Companies, Inc. in Fredericksburg, VA.
• She is a graduate of the Leadership Fredericksburg program and has a strong commitment to the community. She serves on numerous local boards and committees including current positions with Rappahannock United Way and the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce.
• Melinda is an active participant in the startup movement in the Fredericksburg region and stands ready to provide entrepreneurs and new business owners with the tools they need to succeed.
• She is the current Treasurer and Secretary for FredX Change, Inc – a nonprofit focused on creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem for startup businesses in the Fredericksburg area.
